Create two beautiful ceramic luminaries that can be used inside or outside with local artist Elissa Cox Wenthe. Each participant will make two luminaries in a unique style.
This is a single session class--instructor will bisque and clear glaze the work and students will be notified to pick up their finished pieces.

Explore the Norwegian concept of ‘hygge’ (pronounced hyoo-guh) while creating vessels to create a sense of warmth in the coldest of South Dakota's months. Hygge is often associated with warmth, comfort, coziness and finding joy in simple things.
Embrace these ideas as you create luminaries for the table, an incense burner for the home, a set of soup bowls and charcuterie board.
- This will be a three week class ending with a potluck to celebrate hygge together.

Learn basic techniques to make a small animal sculpture. Ages 3-14. Each participant will be provided clay and instruction on basic techniques to hand-build 2-3 ceramic animals. Students should bring photos or images of some of their favorite animals.
An adult must accompany children under seven.
Flower Pots. You (mom/grandma/aunt/good friend) and a child, ages 5-14, will work together to create two beautiful plant pots. The pots will be decorated with underglaze. Pots will be taken to the instructor’s studio and fired with a clear glaze. One week after the class, the pots will be ready to be picked up. You can plant seeds (provided) to watch the flowers grow.
Pots will only be kept at The Collective for two weeks after delivery.

Create a ceramic basket and bunny in time for spring. Students ages 7-12 will each be given clay and basic hand-building instructions on creating a ceramic basket and sculpting a bunny. Students will paint their projects with underglaze. The projects will be fired with a clear glaze and returned to The Collective for pick up one week after the class. Students will have two weeks to pick up projects.
